My mom, who had work the very next day, drove my sister and myself to this tattoo shop that was roughly 40 minutes from my home, and around 2 hours for my sister. Immediately it appears overall tame however several people had their kids there just hanging out, and just as many people were smoking right outside the main entrance to the shop. This was a first come first serve situation and I didn’t intend on lining up with my C-tank running roughly 6 liters next to a bunch of lit cigarettes.

And disregarding other ones might cause bigger problems. Obviously others disagree, but since their input helped you decide, I want to present a counter opinion for you to consider. With that said, there are reasons why I shouldn’t get a tattoo. For one, I’m at a greater risk for infection and rejection.

This is when my sister and the shop owners started to discuss CF and the owner actually had a good friend from high-school he knew who had CF. After this discussion he was super excited to do my tattoo personally, and they invited us to continue our wait inside the shop.

The combination of symptoms, particularly those that were making their way to the outside, alerted my team to something more troublesome. I have several friends that have gotten tattoos post transplant and none of them have had a problem. All Doctor's will say NO based on medical statistics. It's not a good idea because you're risking infection even if you are heathly. Your immune system will be weaker than an average adult making the risk HIGHER and more easily prone to infection.
